Join Aldo Leopold Nature Center for a Winter Solstice Celebration
Monona, WI – Cultures around the globe have celebrated the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year, as a time to reflect on the past year and look with hope to the coming. Join them for a night of inspiration while exploring these solstice traditions under the stars with friends and family. This family-friendly celebration, appropriate for all ages, features:
- A naturalist-led twilight hike on Aldo Leopold Nature Center’s trails
- Nature crafts for kids
- Inspirational Winter Solstice stories from around the globe
- A festive bonfire and ceremonial burning of the Yule log
- Wassail made over a fire in the Children’s Shack
- Food for our winter bird neighbors and
- Hot apple cider, yummy seasonal snacks and more!
Don’t miss this special night of joyful festivities as we look forward to longer and lighter days.
