ANNOUNCING THE 2017 COVER CONTEST WINNER OF THE GUIDE TO THE MONONA AREA
Congratulations to Heidi Johnson of Blue Umbrella Arts
for her beautiful shot of the Sunset Music Series at The East Side Club! Heidi’s shot has been selected as this year’s winner. Thank you to all of the amazing entrants for this year’s cover! It was a difficult decision but the selection committee felt that Heidi’s shot was one that exuded the most powerful “I want to be there!”
feeling. Watch for your copy to be mailed to you or pick one up at area businesses starting in April 2017.
The online version
gives advertisers and the Monona East Side community additional exposure. Much of the success to the 2016 Guide was due to really dialing in the distribution efforts for maximum success and exposure for advertisers.
The Guide was direct mailed to over 9,200 addresses in the Monona East Side community, copies were distributed to relocation specialists in the area, and distribution at kiosks statewide through Travel Wisconsin was utilized.
Advertising space is limited, so if you are interested in placing an ad, please let us know ASAP.
Ad prices and sizes are the same as last year.

Submit a Photo for the Cover Contest
Do you have a great photo of the Monona East Side community? Then, submit it for the 2017 cover photo contest! Last year’s edition was a stunning photo of sailboats on Lake Monona provided by Matt Lueck from the Lake Monona Sailing Club. If you’re interested in submitting a photo, here is the criteria we look for (all of the following).
1) Features outdoor fun—boating, kayaking, sailing, beach play, snowshoeing, skiing, concerts, festivals, etc.
2) Photo must contain people
3) Photo must be available in high-resolution (typically photos taken on your mobile phone are not high resolution or would need an add-on lens to be of high quality)
4) Preference is given to photos of Lake Monona or Yahara River (showing off our waterfront community)
Best results are achieved by using a Digital SLR, not a phone camera.
If you’d like to submit a photo, email your image to the MESBA office by February 1. Photo credit will be given on the table of contents page. on our social media channels, and the Monona Minute.
