The state of Wisconsin is home to nearly 10,000 arts-related businesses that employ over 42,000 people, according to Dun and Bradstreet. Global research and practice show that students with high levels of arts participation outperform other students on virtually every measure from standardized tests to community participation, and that learning through the arts has a significant effect on learning in other areas, particularly in the early years. Anne Katz, Executive Director of Arts Wisconsin will discuss how the creative economy impacts communities and the economic impact of embracing arts in our community.
