Monona Farmers’ Market

Smelling the flowersEvery Sunday morning, local vendors circle up their stands to create a great community market at the Monona Farmers Market. At the center, the atmosphere is enhanced by weekly live entertainment. Marketers can chat with friends, sip on fresh-brewed café drinks, tap their toes to music, visit with the mayor, enjoy free yoga on the grass, get gardening advice from The Master Gardener volunteers and shop for locally grown seasonal produce, plants, herbs and flowers, baked-goods, cheeses, meats, fresh eggs, honey, preserved foods, soap and candles and more. There’s something for everyone!

Thanks to the vision and commitment of the volunteer steering committee, community sponsors, old and new vendors, the market manager and the shoppers, the market has become an area treasure.

FarmerWithSunflowers-webEnjoy special events throughout the season starting with free cinnamon rolls at the opening Roll Out the Market. Watch for upcoming events, chef and vendor demos at the market this year.

Getting there is easy. Ahuska Park offers free, easy-access parking and bike racks for cyclists. Stay awhile. There’s lots to do at the park. Enjoy a picnic, take a stroll or play tennis. Visit the Veterans’ Memorial, play in the playground, and search for hidden geo-caches.
