Door Creek Golf Course Recipient of 2017 Golf Course of the Year Award

Cottage Grove’s Door Creek Golf Course was recently named the recipient of the Golf Course Owners of Wisconsin’s annual Golf Course of the Year 2017 Award. Door Creek Golf Course received the award for an 18+ hole course. The 9-hole winner was Yellowstone Golf Course in Blanchardville and the Destination Golf Course winner was the host of the 2017 US Open, Erin Hills in Erin, WI.

Criteria for the award was a golf course that “exhibits extraordinary characteristic. The course is of exceptional quality, has an outstanding management team, has made contributions to its community and has made a significant effort to grow the game of golf in Wisconsin”. Located on Vilas Road just west of the village of Cottage Grove, Door Creek features 18 holes of championship golf plus a 9-hole par 30 executive course and driving range. In business since 1991, Door Creek is also open year round with indoor golf simulators.

The course is owned by Phil Frederickson and Kristin Zweifel Frederickson of Cottage Grove.
